Welcome to Ryans updates

Friends and Family, If you are visiting this website, then you are likely already aware that on December 21st, while visiting Jesse’s family during our Christmas vacation, Ryan became very ill with chest pain and a very high fever. We took him to the Emergency Room near where Jesse's family lives and they transferred him to Janet Weis Children's Hospital in Danville, PA where he was admitted. On December 22, Ryan had a bone marrow biopsy which revealed that he has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Ryan will need to remain here for approximately four weeks while he undergoes the first phase of his treatment plan, then he will be able to go home to Texas. On December 23 he had a spinal tap and Port placement. This port will remain for the remainder of his treatment which is expected to last through June of 2028. His chemotherapy treatments began on December 24th, so we are expecting his stay to last about four weeks from that date. We have experienced an incredible outpouring of love and support from so many people, and we are deeply grateful for it. Jesse and I are currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Danville, just a few minutes away from the hospital. Our other three children have returned home to Houston for now. Jesse’s aunt, Bonnie, flew back with them today and is currently staying with them. The purpose of this website is to provide a central place where we can post updates, share pictures, and offer ideas for support so that everyone can stay informed. As we are dealing with a lot right now, this allows us to share information in one place and helps reduce the need for myself and Jesse to individually reach out to everyone who is so kindly supporting us each day. Thank you so much for all of the support everyone has shown us so far. We will continue to keep everyone updated through this site. Thank you again for everything—we love you all.

Thank you for the update! Is there anything that Ryan is particularly enjoying eating, or maybe a treat we can send him? Also, are there any dietary restrictions that I should be aware of before I send something?
Answer
Hey Tom! Thank you. There are some dietary restrictions right now, I will update the support page though to list some things that Ryan is enjoying.
